Quick question: which Moomin cartoon/tv series adaptation, in your, general or Tove Jansson's opinion is most similar to original Moomin books?

John Chancer was the voice of Snufkin the traveler in the 1990’s television adaption of the Moomins. While I don’t think Chancer’s portrayal of Snufkin matches the character’s true personality (that being very stoic and blunt), that shouldn’t hinder his performance. I think John Chancer is a great voice actor, and you can tell that he’s really putting his all into his line delivery. I consider this to be impressive, considering that the English dubbing actors had to match what the characters were saying (for those who don’t know, the 1990’s television series was made in Japan. As such, the animation was synced with the Japanese voice actor’s lips.)

Personally, I think the voice matches not so much the character’s personality, but his appearance. I can’t really explain why, but there’s just something about John Chancer’s voice that just works for Snufkin. If you disagree with this, you are entitled to your opinion. I’d really love to hear your thoughts on the subject, as I’m just getting into the show and would love to hear from fans who are more knowledgeable in the Moomins than I am.

I love the 90’s show way too much, and I’ve made two (meme-ish) videos using clips from it.

For some reason the Finnish character names are listed before the original names. I would edit it myself but I just made this account so I don't think I should make any large edits.

(Swedish is the original language, in my opinion it's weird to have a translated name as the first)

I found out, that you need admin rights to edit the navigation bar. The only admin here was Spacepigeon, who was last active in 2020. It is possible to adopt a wiki at the community central, but I won't be the one.

Snufkin is my life, with my tutor I was getting nervous and she let me take a break. My break was me looking at 90s Snufkin for 5 minutes straight
