Moominmamma (Finnish: Muumimamma, Swedish: Muminmamman) is a Moomin married to Moominpappa, who found her during a storm, and is the mother of Moomintroll.

Physical description

Moominmamma is almost never without her handbag, which contains essentials like woolly socks, tummy powder, and bark.

Personality and traits

She is very rarely angry and takes even the most distressing circumstances (such as the arrival of a comet, or being washed away by a flood) in her stride. Moominmamma would permit anything to her child and his friends, even smoking (she says it's good for the stomach). She makes bark boats every summer, and the first one goes to her favourite.

History

Moominmamma first appears in The Moomins and the Great Flood, along with Moominpappa and Moomintroll.

Moomin (Tanoshii Mūmin Ikka) (1990)

Moominmamma is one of the protagonists in the Moomin anime series from 1990-92. She lives in the Moominhouse with her husband, Moominpappa, and her son, Moomintroll. When a dangerous event occurs, Moominmamma's weapon of choice is a frying pan. She is rarely seen running. When other characters are in a hurry, she often walks calmly behind.
